Here are the numbers for 17 contiguous counties in Tenessee for the period from October 1 to December 22. Nine did not have a mask-mandate in place, while eight did.
Counties with mask mandates saw 4.7% of their population infected while those without masks saw a 4.6% infection rate. Interestingly, Hawkins County, which let its mandate expire at the end of September, had 4.3% of its population infected, while Carter County had 5.1% infected with a mandate in place. Both have nearly identical populations.

Association is not correlation; that applies to Tennessee and the rest of the world data. So here is some more interesting data on cases/million:
*USA, varied masking: 59,173 cases/million 6th worst in world
*Singapore, heavily masked, 9,966 deaths/million 99th worst in world
*S. Korea, heavily masked, 1,125 deaths/million 154th worst in world
There are a lot of variables that go into infection rates, masking is just one of them but the evidence is that masking reduces infection. Citing anecdotes on either side of the discussion doesn't make for a useful dialog
Sorry, both Singapore and S. Korea data are cases/million not death/million
